Hormonal imbalance

Hormones are signal substances that we produce to regulate all kinds of bodily functions. Sometimes this production is disrupted. Then it is possible that too much or too little of a certain hormone is produced. In that case we speak of hormonal imbalance. This can be expressed in, for example, the absence of menstruation and fertility problems in PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) or unwanted weight gain in thyroid abnormalities such as hypothyroidism (a slow thyroid gland) or the menopause. The cause of a hormonal imbalance can sometimes be difficult to trace. But one thing is certain, and that is that a balanced lifestyle has a positive effect on hormones and can therefore contribute to (restoring) a healthy hormonal balance.

Is your diet balanced? Does your nutritional intake cover all the needs to let your body functions do their work? Do you have a healthy fat percentage? Do you regularly take time for relaxation? These are examples of lifestyle factors that can play a role in the functioning of hormones in your body. Food Mind Body will help you to find balance in the field of nutrition and lifestyle, and thus to benefit the balance of your hormones.
